Madam C. J. Walker was born the
daughter of former slaves. She
became the first African-American
Woman Millionaire by creating a hair
care product for African-American
women in 1905.
When most women worked as maids,
cooks and wash women, including
herself at one time, she created a
million dollar Corporation and
employed hundreds of women
throughout the nation.
Our doll is a tribute to her tenacity,
perseverance and true entrepreneurial
spirit.
